Network Access
resident research

The MBL offers 3 available wireless networks. The MBL IT Dept. has recently upgraded the wireless network across the entire campus to increase coverage areas and bandwidth by installing new 802.11n wireless access points.

"MBL-GUEST" Wireless Network

This network is geared towards meeting the Internet needs of the many Visitors, Contractors, Vendors and other non-permanent people that pass through the MBL and need "casual" Internet access to websites and email. Connecting to "MBL-GUETS" is extremely easy to use and is very similar to systems that are widely deployed in hotels and Internet cafe's. This wireless network has limited access to any MBL network resources, such as internal web pages, printers, and other shared devices. Instructions for connecting are available in PDF format below:

"MBL-REGISTER" Wireless Network

This network is a more secure authenticated wireless network with additional access to MBL network resources. This is the recommended wireless network for MBL year round researchers and staff. The "MBL-REGISTER" wireless network is also best suited for summer researchers, course faculty, and students that need access to network resources such as internal web pages, printers, and other shared devices not available on the Guest wireless network.
