Research Interests:

Maki Koike-Tani was trained as an electrophysiologist while she was a graduate school student in Gunma University School of Medicine, studying on the function of AMPA-type glutamate receptors in the primary cultured neurons and acute brain slices of mammalian central nervous system. After she had earned Ph.D degree, she worked at University of Illinois at Chicago, and University of Tokyo as a postdoctoral fellow and then moved to Hokkaido University School of Medicine as an Assistant Professor. She joined CDP in 2011. Her current study is focused on the dynamics of membrane receptors in neurons and glial cells during the development and plasticity of nerve network.
